Men's Volleyball Sweeps No. 11 St. John Fisher (N.Y.) to Close BW Invitational

BEREA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's volleyball team defeated No. 11 nationally ranked St. John Fisher (N.Y.) University in the 2025 Baldwin Wallace Invitational finale by a final score of 3-0 in Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou HIggins Center.

BW (5-1) handed No. 11 St. John Fisher (8-1) its first loss of the season after hitting a season-best .471 through all three sets. The Yellow Jackets wrap up the weekend as the only team to go unbeaten in the BW Invitational losing only one set in three matches including two against nationally ranked teams.

  • Junior Academic All-MCVL middle hitter Colby Whiteside (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) tied a career-high seven blocks, including three solos and four assists, and had four kills
  • Sophomore libero Jack Sullenberger (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) led the Brown and Gold with eight digs
  • Sophomore outside hitter Daniel Latham (Westerville/Westerville Central) had seven kills, a match-high three aces, and assisted on three blocks
  • Senior All-MCVL outside hitter Ted Hofmeister (Powell/Saint Charles) recorded his fifth straight game with double-digit kills finishing with 11 
  • Senior Academic All-MCVL setter Carson Junker (Massillon/Jackson) assisted a match-high 30 times
  • Sophomore All-MCVL outside hitter Owen Huynh (Loveland) finished with a match-high 13 kills
SJF Leaders
  • Senior setter Gavin Newman led the team in assists with 16 and in digs with seven
  • Junior outside hitter Gabe Robardiere tallied a team-high seven kills
  • Freshman outside hitter Coleton Welter added six kills
