Women's Soccer Falls to Mount Union

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team lost an Ohio Athletic Conference battle to the University of Mount Union by a final score of 4-0 on the turf of George Finnie Stadium.

BW Leaders (3-10-2, 2-3 OAC)

  • Junior forward Kalyn Rich (Lynchburg/Lynchburg-Clay) led the Yellow Jackets by taking six shots, with three of them being on goal

  • Junior Academic All-OAC goalkeeper Kelly Carver (East Amherst, N.Y./Williamsville East) recorded two saves as the starting goalie

Mount Union Leaders (6-5-2, 3-2 OAC)

  • Midfielders Ella Dinwiddie and Rachel Washburn, along with forwards Madeline Buolos and Jill Wiersma had one goal each to lead the Purple Raiders to victory

  • Buolos and forward Rachel Chenos recorded an assist to help the Mount Union offense

  • Buolos had three shots on goal in addition to her assist and the goal she had

  • Goalkeeper Leanne Williams had five saves with a perfect saving percentage

First Half (Mount Union 1-0)

  • 5:24 - Mount Union got on the board first with Boulos connecting to put the Purple Raiders ahead 1-0 for the only goal by either team in the first half with Chenos picking up the assist

Second Half (Mount Union 4-0)

  • 62:07 - Dinwiddie extended the Mount Union lead to two by connecting on a shot that was high-left with Buolos helping with the goal

  • 64:03 - The Purple Raiders got an insurance goal from Washburn shortly after the Dinwiddie goal to go up 3-0 with just over 26 minutes to play

  • 84:34 - Wirsma scored a goal late in the second half to extend Mount Union's lead to four goals with a little more than five minutes to play
