Men’s Indoor Track and Field Kicked Off Season at Case Western Reserve

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's track and field team opened their 2025-26 indoor season at the 12th Annual Spartan Holiday Classic at Case Western Reserve University. This meet was unscored.

Track Event Highlights
  • Sophomore distance runner Gabe Ghering (Sunbury / Big Walnut) earned an indoor personal record and first place in the 5000m run with his time of 15:38.14. He beat the second-place runner by 28 seconds.
  • Sophomore Samuel Skor (Columbia Station / Columbia) set a PR in the 60m hurdle prelims of 8.58 seconds and then set another in the finals of 8.55 seconds while finishing in second place.
  • Nick Swartz (Marion / Pleasant), Nate James (Warren / Harding), and Isaak Keller (Seven Hills / Normandy) finished the mile run in first, second, and third place, respectively, while all finishing within a second of each other. Swartz earned a PR time of 4:26.4 and Keller set a PR of 4:27.18.
  • Sophomore Christian Orgel (Sullivan / Black River) set a PR of 1:08.35 in the 500m run and is less than three seconds shy of the BW school record of 1:05.36 (set in 1998 by Kris Boey).

Field Event Highlights
  • Junior Kitar Olsen (Whitefish, Mont.) posted a personal record weight throw while earning first place with his 19.33m mark. This was 4.1m further than second place, 0.93m further than his previous PR, and four inches shy of the school record.
  • Junior Connor Radojcsics (Mount Gilead / Northmor) set an indoor pole vault PR of 4.55m while taking first place. The mark was 0.15m higher than second place and 0.03m shy of his outdoor PR.
  • All-OAC senior shot putter Mason Kiesel (New London / South Central) took first place in the shot put with a 15.12m put.
  • Sophomore jumper Wyatt Gamble (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Mars Area) landed a 12.54m triple jump to earn a personal record.

  • Track and field will hibernate until Saturday, January 24 when they return to Northeast Ohio to compete in the Leo Miller & Hayden Snow Meet of Champions, hosted by John Carroll University.
