Tommie McQueary (Batavia/Bethel Tate) each won an Ohio Athletic Conference title as the Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving team stands in fourth place after the second day of the OAC Championships hosted by the Yellow Jackets inside the Ocasek Natatorium on the campus of the University of Akron.
BW is fourth of six teams with 255 points. Defending champions and crosstown rival John Carroll University leads with 617 points.
Individuals
- Heisler captured his first OAC Title and earned his fifth All-OAC honor as he won the 3-meter with a career-best 507.50 points
- McQueary captured his third overall OAC title and earned his fifth All-OAC honor as he won his first 100-yard butterfly in a school-record and NCAA Division III B-cut time of 48.43
- Senior stroker Luke Minick (Stow/Archbishop Hoban) placed seventh in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 53.06
- Junior stroker Matias Cordero (Cuenca, Ecuador/Joseph de Jussieu) was ninth in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 52.95
- Senior All-OAC freestyler Austin Kingsley (Northport, N.Y.) was 10th in 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:42.98
- Junior stroker Nolan Szuch (Springboro) was 11th in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 53.08
- Junior stroker Tyler Warner (Mexico, N.Y./Mexico Academy) was 12th in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:01.40
- Senior stroker Jason Tafoya (El Paso) was 13th in the 400-yard individual medley in a time of 4:23.54
- Sophomore stroker Owen Rogonjic (Mentor) was 13th in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 56.22
- Freshman stroker Danny Murphy (Herndon, Va./South Lakes) was 14th in the 100-yard butterfly in a career-best time of 56.63
- Senior Academic All-OAC stroker Jack Kielmeyer (Westerville/South) was 15th in the 100-yard breaststroke in a career-best time of 1:02.77
- Sophomore stroker Michael Gruber (Sagamore Hills/Nordonia) was 15th in the 400-yard individual medley in a time of 4:46.88
- Senior stroker Davis Pickett (Akron/Firestone) was 16th in the 400-yard individual medley in a time of 4:54.38
- Freshman freestyler Mason Carnahan (Willard) was 16th in the 200-yard freestyle in a career-best time of 1:51.56
Relays
- The 200-yard medley squad of Kingsley, Kielmeyer, McQueary and Cordero took fourth in a time of 1:36.08
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, February 15 when they host the third and final day of the OAC Championships. Prelims are slated to begin at 10 a.m. with finals to be contested at 5:30 p.m.
