Men's Indoor Track and Field Competes at Mid-February Meet and David Hemery Valentine Invitational

BEREA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's indoor track and field team hosted its second and final home meet of the indoor season, the Mid-February Meet, on the Harrison Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center. The meet was unscored.

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:
  • Sophomore sprinter Joe Blahovec (Greensburg, Pa. / Greensburg Central Catholic) won the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.10.
  • Senior distance runner Joe Kelly (Lakewood) won the 5,000-meter run in a time of 16:04.17.
  • Sophomore distance runner Trent Macura (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls) won the one-mile run in a time of 4:38.94.
  • Sophomore distance runner Nick Marcovitch (San Antonio, Texas / Johnson) won the 800-meter run in a time of 2:03.16.
  • Freshman sprinter Addison Martinez (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls) won the 400-meter dash in a time of 53.14.
  • Sophomore hurdler Samuel Skor (Columbia Station / Columbia) won the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 8.26.
Field event highlights:
  • Senior jumper Jason Freeman (Garfield Heights / Padua Franciscan) won the high jump with a mark of 6.18 meters.
  • Senior thrower Thomas Hickman (Oxford / Talawanda) won the weight throw with a distance of 16.29 meters.
On the relay side:
  • In the 4x400 relay crew, freshman sprinter Jonah Kadow (Clyde / Bellevue), freshman thrower Lucas Frye (Galena / Olentangy Orange), junior sprinter Trey Powell (Loveland), and freshman sprinter/hurdler Hakeem Shelby (Springfield) won in a time of 3:39.05.
Select members of the men's indoor track and field team competed at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, hosted by NCAA Division I Boston (Mass.) University.

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:
  • Sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference sprinter Wesley Noeth (Powell / Olentangy Liberty) placed 26th in the 400-meter dash invite in a time of 49.31.
  • Freshman distance runner Will Prato (Massillon / Jackson) finished the 800-meter run in a time of 1:55.65.
  • Sophomore All-OAC distance runner Dillon Hach (Medina) and junior All-OAC distance runner Sam Sikorski (Columbia Station / Columbia) concluded the one-mile run in a time of 4:17.48 and 4:16.22, respectively.
BW is back in action on Saturday, Feb. 15 as it travels to Westerville, Ohio for the All-Ohio Indoor Championships (hosted by Otterbein University).
