Game Recap: Men's Track and Field |

Men's Indoor Track and Field Lands in Second Place at All-Ohio Indoor Championships; Select Members Compete at Tufts (Mass.)

WESTERVILLE, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's indoor track and field team competed at the All-Ohio Indoor Championships, hosted by Otterbein University in the Clements Recreation Center.

BW placed second out of 16 participating teams with 75 points. University of Mount Union won the meet with 124 points. 

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:
  • Freshman distance runner Isaak Keller (Seven Hills / Normandy) won the one-mile run in a time of 4:29.35. Keller also competed in the 800-meter run, placing third in a time of 2:02.30.
  • Freshman distance runner Nick Swartz (Marion / Pleasant) finished second in the one-mile run in a time of 4:29.94.
Field event highlights:
  • Senior All-American high jumper Christian Pfeiffer (Amherst) won the high jump with a mark of 2.02 meters.
  • Senior thrower Mason Kiesel (New London / South Central) placed second in flight one of the weight throw with a distance of 15.64 meters. Kiesel also competed in flight two of the shot put, finishing second with a mark of 14.98 meters. 
  • Sophomore thrower Ethan Jones (Avon) placed second in flight one of the shot put with a distance of 14.06 meters.
  • Senior thrower Kaleu Tellas (Indianapolis, Ind. / International School of Indiana) finished second in flight two of the weight throw with a mark of 16.19 meters. Tellas also competed in flight two of the shot put, placing third with a distance of 14.80 meters.
On the relay side:
  • In the 4x400 relay squad of section three, freshman distance runner Nate James (Warren / Harding), sophomore hurdler Samuel Skor (Columbia Station / Columbia), freshman sprinter Addison Martinez (Stow / Stow-Munroe Falls), and sophomore sprinter Joe Blahovec (Greensburg, Pa. / Greensburg Central Catholic) finished fourth in a time of 3:32.44.
Select members of the men's indoor track and field team competed at the Tufts Stampede Invitational, hosted by Tufts (Mass.) University.
  • In the distance medley relay crew, freshman distance runner Will Prato (Massillon / Jackson), sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference distance runner Dillon Hach (Medina), sophomore All-OAC sprinter Wesley Noeth (Powell / Olentangy Liberty), and junior All-OAC distance runner Sam Sikorski (Columbia Station / Columbia) placed 10th in a time of 10:13.25.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Friday, Feb. 21 as they travel to Cleveland for the Ed Finnigan Greater Cleveland Colleges Invitational (hosted by Case Western Reserve University).
