DANVILLE, Ky. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse team defeated Centre (Ky.) College in its season opener by a final score of 15-4 in a non-conference matchup on the South Campus Field.
BW (1-0) was led by junior attack
Mariana Melgoza (Avon Lake) as she tallied a team-high four goals along with three ground balls, two assists and one caused turnover. The Yellow Jackets were also led by sophomore midfielder
Annette Doren (Lakewood) and junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference attack
Carley House (Hilliard / Darby).
Doren scored two goals with two draw controls, one assist, one ground ball and one caused turnover.
House notched
three goals and one ground ball.
Centre was led by sophomore attack Sophia Richardson as she earned nine ground balls, three caused turnovers and two goals.
