BEREA, Ohio - The No. 16 nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace University men's volleyball team swept a home tri-match as it defeated Grove City (Pa.) College by a final score of 3-1 and Houghton (N.Y.) University by a final score of 3-0 in the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse.
vs. Grove City (6-9)
- Senior All-MCVL outside hitter Ted Hofmeister (Powell/Saint Charles) led the offense hitting .355 with 16 kills on 31 attempts
- Junior Academic All-MCVL libero Aiden Kim (Bothell, Wash./North Creek) and Hofmeister each tallied a team-high 10 digs
- Sophomore outside hitter Daniel Latham (Westerville/Westerville Central) recorded a career-high seven service aces along with 12 kills and six digs
- Senior Academic All-MCVL setter Carson Junker (Massillon/Jackson) finished with a statline of 36 assists, five block assists, and six digs
- Senior All-MCVL middle hitter Reed Fisher (Freedom, Pa./Ambridge Area) and junior Academic All-MCVL middle hitter Josh Steinitz (Towson, Md./Friends School of Baltimore) each added five kills and had two block assists and three block assists, respectively
vs. Houghton (0-10)
- Senior All-MCVL right-side hitter Michael Devlin (Zelienople, Pa./Seneca Valley) led the team with nine kills and contributed three digs and two aces
- Sophomore Academic All-MCVL middle hitter Bobby Mayberry (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) finished with a career-high five kills, four aces, and one dig
- Freshman right-side hitter Drew Jurcago (Brunswick) recorded the first three kills of his collegiate career and contributed four digs and two aces
- Senior Academic All-MCVL outside hitter Marquis Kelly (Surprise, Ariz./Willow Canyon) served as the Brown and Gold's setter and had a game-high 21 assists
- Freshman libero David Abercrombie (Maricopa, Ariz.) led the defense with a career-high seven digs
- Sophomore Academic All-MCVL middle hitter Michael Mihalov (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) recorded a career-high in kills with three, in digs with two, in blocks with one, and in aces with one
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Friday, February 21 as they travel to Olivet, Michigan to open the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League schedule against the University of Olivet (Mich.) at 7 p.m. on Hathaway Court inside the Cutler Event Center.
