Women's Indoor Track and Field Reaches Fourth Place at All-Ohio Indoor Championships; Collier Competes at Tufts (Mass.)

WESTERVILLE, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field team competed at the All-Ohio Indoor Championships, hosted by Otterbein University in the Clements Recreation Center.

BW placed fourth out of 15 participating teams with 69 points. University of Mount Union won the meet with 108.5 points. 

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:
  • Freshman sprinter Kenae Moore (Cypress, Texas / Bridgeland) finished first in section two of the 200-meter dash in a time of 26.52.
  • Senior All-American distance runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) won the 800-meter run and one-mile run in a time of 2:18.07 and 5:19.35, respectively.
  • Freshman distance runner Gianna Pedone (Strongsville) won the 5,000-meter run in a time of 19:04.29.
Field event highlights:
  • Sophomore jumper Rylee Gorrell (Grove City, Pa. / Grove City Area) placed second in the high jump with a distance of 1.60 meters.
On the relay side:
  • In the 4x200 relay crew of section three, Moore, freshman sprinter/hurdler Jameire Honzu (Warren / Harding), junior sprinter Jessica Klonowski (Parma / Holy Name), and junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference sprinter Morgan Aloi (Sylvania / Sylvania Northview) finished third in a time of 1:49.47. 
Senior All-OAC sprinter Abby Collier (Dublin / Coffman) competed at the Tufts Stampede Invitational, hosted by Tufts (Mass.) University. Collier won the 400-meter dash in a time of 58.76, and she placed second in the 200-meter dash in a time of 25.56.

BW is back in action on Friday, Feb. 21 as it travels to Cleveland for the Ed Finnigan Greater Cleveland Colleges Invitational (hosted by Case Western Reserve University).
