Women's Indoor Track and Field Competes at Ed Finnigan Greater Cleveland Colleges Invite

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field team competed at the Ed Finnigan Greater Cleveland Colleges Invite, hosted by Case Western Reserve University in the Veale Center. The meet was unscored.

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:
  • Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference sprinter Abby Collier (Dublin / Coffman) won the 200-meter dash and the 400-meter dash in a time of 25.69 and 1:02.09, respectively.
  • Freshman sprinter/hurdler Jameire Honzu (Warren / Harding) won the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 9.07.
  • Senior All-American distance runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) won the 800-meter run and the 3,000-meter run in a time of 2:20.20 and 10:53.49, respectively.
Field event highlights:
  • Sophomore jumper Rylee Gorrell (Grove City, Pa. / Grove City Area) placed second in the high jump with a distance of 1.57 meters.
  • Freshman jumper Lucy McChesney-Betler (Greensburg, Pa. / Salem) finished second in the pole vault with a mark of 3.30 meters.
On the relay side:
  • In the 4x400 relay crew, Murphy, junior All-OAC distance runner Katie Plecko (Rootstown), sophomore distance runner Abbie George (Ebensburg, Pa. / Central Cambria), and freshman sprinter Bri Almasy (Elyria / St. Joseph Academy) won in a time of 4:26.11.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Friday, Feb. 28 as they travel to Ada, Ohio for day one of the OAC Indoor Championships (hosted by Ohio Northern University).
