BEREA, Ohio - The No. 13 nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace University men's volleyball team split in a home tri-match where it fell to Thiel (Pa.) College by a final score of 3-1 and defeated Hiram College by a final score of 3-2 in Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center.
BW (7-5) opened its five-game homestand and its first of two tri-matches against Thiel (4-5) where they took the first set by a score of 25-18 but dropped the last three by scores of 25-19, 25-16, and 25-24. The Jackets then bounced back by taking Hiram (5-4) to five sets and beating the Terriers by scores of 25-17, 22-25, 23-25, 25-22, and 15-11.

- Senior Academic All-MCVL setter Carson Junker (Massillon/Jackson) led the team with 29 assists
- Senior All-MCVL outside hitter Ted Hofmeister (Powell/Saint Charles) recorded his fourth double-double of the year with 13 digs and 12 kills
- Junior Academic All-MCVL middle hitter Josh Steinitz (Towson, Md./Friends School of Baltimore) defended the net with four block assists
- Sophomore outside hitter Daniel Latham (Westerville/Westerville Central) also reached double-figures with 10 kills
- Junior Academic All-MCVL libero Aiden Kim (Bothell, Wash./North Creek) contributed nine digs through two sets
- Freshman right-side hitter Drew Jurcago (Brunswick) made his collegiate debut in the second set

- Senior All-MCVL outside hitter Michael Beard (Hilliard/Darby) had a season-high 19 kills on 36 attacks and added seven digs
- Senior All-MCVL middle hitter Reed Fisher (Freedom, Pa./Ambridge Area) contributed seven kills and two solo blocks
- Sophomore Academic All-MCVL middle hitter Bobby Mayberry (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) recorded a new career-high three kills and three aces
- Latham finished with 14 kills, five aces, and five digs
- Kim had a season-high 16 digs
- Steinitz tallied 10 kills
- Junker assisted 43 times with no errors
- Hofmeister added 13 more digs and three total blocks
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Friday, February 14 as they host a non-conference match against No. 15 nationally ranked Aurora (Ill.) University at 8 p.m. in Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center.
