ASHLAND, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field team competed at the Fourth Jud Logan Light Giver Open, hosted by NCAA Division II Ashland University. The meet was unscored.
The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:
- Junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference sprinter Morgan Aloi (Sylvania / Sylvania Northview) placed ninth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:00.71
On the relay side:
- In the 4x400 relay squad, Aloi, senior All-American distance runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore), senior sprinter/hurdler Kenni Voytek (Valley View / Cuyahoga Heights), and senior All-OAC sprinter Abby Collier (Dublin / Coffman) finished 11th in a time of 4:02.65
The Brown and Gold also competed at the Dan Kinsey Invite, hosted by Oberlin College. The meet was unscored.
The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:
- Sophomore distance runner Brooke Kennedy (Alabama, N.Y. / Oakfield Alabama) won the 3,000-meter run in a time of 11:54.48
- Junior All-OAC distance runner Katie Plecko (Rootstown) placed second in the 1,000-meter run in a time of 3:06.63
Field event highlights:
- Freshman thrower Janelle Rominger (Cambridge) won the weight throw with a mark of 13.61 meters
- Freshman pole vaulter Morgan Riley (Bay Village / St. Joseph Academy) finished second in the pole vault with a distance of 3.02 meters
On the relay side:
- In the 4x200 relay squad, junior sprinter Jessica Klonowski (Parma / Holy Name), freshman sprinter Bri Almasy (Elyria / St. Joseph Academy), freshman jumper Peyton Putnam (Shelby), and sophomore sprinter Sara Blahovec (Greensburg, Pa. / Greensburg Central Catholic) placed second in a time of 1:58.34
The Yellow Jackets are back in action Friday, Feb. 14 at 4 p.m. as they host their final indoor home meet, the Mid-February Meet, on the Harrison Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse.
