ADA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field team finished in fourth place after the second and final day of the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by Ohio Northern University.
BW was fourth of 10 teams with 98.33 points. University of Mount Union won the OAC Indoor Championships with 188.83 points.
During tonight's podium ceremony, senior All-OAC sprinter
Abby Collier (Dublin / Coffman) was recognized as the OAC Women's Sprinter/Hurdler of the Meet.
The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:
- Collier earned All-OAC honors in the 60-meter dash after winning in a time of 7.71. She also earned All-OAC honors in the 200-meter dash after winning in a time of 25.21.
- Freshman All-OAC sprinter Jameire Honzu (Warren / Harding) earned All-OAC honors in the 60-meter hurdles after winning in a time of 9.10.
- Senior All-American distance runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) earned All-OAC honors in the 800-meter run after placing second in a time of 2:18.89.
Field events highlighted:
- Sophomore All-OAC jumper Rylee Gorrell (Grove City, Pa. / Grove City Area) earned All-OAC honors in the high jump after finishing second with a mark of 1.63 meters.
On the relay side:
- In the 4x200 relay crew, freshman All-OAC sprinter/hurdler Kenae Moore (Cypress, Texas / Bridgeland), Collier, senior All-OAC sprinter/hurdler Kenni Voytek (Valley View / Cuyahoga Heights), and junior All-OAC sprinter Morgan Aloi (Sylvania / Sylvania Northview) earned All-OAC honors after winning in a time of 1:43.39.
- In the 4x400 relay squad, Collier, Aloi, junior All-OAC distance runner Katie Plecko (Rootstown), and Murphy earned All-OAC honors after placing second in a time of 4:04.32.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, March 8 for the Polar Bear Qualifier (hosted by Ohio Northern University) and the Tufts Qualifying Meet (hosted by Tufts [Mass.] University).
