Baseball Downs Westminster (Pa.) in Home Opener

BEREA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University baseball team defeated Westminster (Pa.) College by a final score of 8-2 in the 2025 home opener at Fisher Field.

Scoring Summary

  • Bottom 2nd - Junior All-OAC center fielder Dennis Ritlinger-Nirider (Grove City) made it two straight games with a homer after putting the Jackets on top thanks to a two-run blast
  • Bottom 2nd - Senior designated hitter Harrison Johnson (Mason/William Mason) smacked his first homer as a Yellow Jacket to dead center
  • Bottom 4th - Senior All-OAC left fielder Joey Marousek (North Royalton) doubled down the line to score two more for the Brown and Gold
  • Bottom 4th - Junior All-OAC shortstop and OAC Hitter of the Week Sean Kolenich (Parma/St. Edward) found the gap in left center to bring in two more runs
  • Bottom 7th - Johnson hit one off the fence in center for an inside the park home run
  • Bottom 8th - Senior Academic All-OAC second baseman Noah English (Perrysburg) drove in the last run with an RBI double

  • Sophomore right-hander Matt Moscarino (Strongsville/Padua Franciscan) went four quality innings where he struck out four and allowed only one run on one hit and one walk
  • Senior Academic All-OAC right-hander Kade Swisher (Berea/Berea-Midpark) came on in the fifth and had one strikeout and gave up one run on one hit
  • Senior right-hander Mason Decker (Middleburg Heights/Berea-Midpark) allowed no hits or runs in the sixth and notched his first career strikeout
  • Senior All-OAC right-hander Dylan Snyder (Stow/Archbishop Hoban) picked up the win after going two innings where he struck out two and only allowed one hit
  • Junior All-OAC right-hander Tyler Walker (Fairlawn/Copley) pitched the ninth where he struck out two of his five batters and allowed one hit
The Yellow Jackets are back in action Saturday, March 22 as they open the Ohio Athletic Conference schedule in a doubleheader against Ohio Northern University beginning at  p.m. at Fisher Field.
