TIFFIN, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University baseball team defeated Tiffin University by a final score of 9-2 in a non-conference game on Heminger Field at the Paradiso Athletic Complex.

Scoring Plays

• Top 1st - Sophomore designated hitter Colin West (Westborough, Mass./Worcester Academy) hit a sac fly out to center as the Yellow Jackets struck first
• Top 1st - Sophomore second baseman Jace Druschel (Tampa, Fla./George Steinbrenner) scored on a Dragons error after senior All-OAC left fielder Joey Marousek (North Royalton) notched a base hit
• Top 3rd - Marousek hit another single, this time with the bases loaded to extend the BW lead
• Top 3rd - The next at-bat, senior first baseman Harrison Johnson (Mason/William Mason) had a pinch-hit base knock for back-to-back RBI singles
• Top 3rd - Senior right fielder Justin Carinci (Ajax, Ontario/Pickering) grounded out to first but was able to score West from third
• Top 3rd - Sophomore catcher Mason Fixx (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) added to the damage with two RBI on a two-out single
• Top 9th - West got a run back for the Brown and Gold by scoring on a wild pitch
• Top 9th - Sophomore third baseman Carson Petrecca (Willowick/Eastlake North) battled back in the count to smack his first homer as a Yellow Jacket

At the Plate

• Marousek finished a team-best 2-for-3 with an RBI
• Fixx stays hot with two hits and a game-high two RBI
• Druschel and junior All-OAC shortstop Sean Kolenich (Parma/St. Edward) each had multi-hit games and scored two runs and one run, respectively
• West scored two runs, drove in one RBI, and had one stolen base

On the Mound

• Sophomore right-hander Matt Moscarino (Strongsville/Padua Franciscan) gets the win after pitching six shutout innings where he tallied three strikeouts and held Tiffin to only three hits and a walk
• Freshman right-hander Trip Thaler (Kirtland) struck out two in the seventh where he allowed one run on one hit
• Junior All-OAC right-hander Tyler Walker (Fairlawn/Copley) also added two strikeouts in the eighth where he gave up one run on one hit
• Senior right-hander Patrick Straub (Naperville, Ill./Metea Valley) struck out two of his four batters in the ninth and had one walk
