Men's Track and Field Opens Outdoor Season at Bob Kahn Invitational

OBERLIN, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's track and field team opened its outdoor season as it competed in the Bob Kahn Invitational, hosted by Oberlin College on the Robert Kahn Track.

The meet was unscored.

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:
  • Sophomore distance runner Sage Egan (Toledo / Ottawa Hills) won the 3000-meter steeplechase in a time of 10:16.45.
  • Sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference sprinter Wesley Noeth (Powell / Olentangy Liberty) won the 400-meter dash in a time of 48.56. Noeth also won the 200-meter dash in a time of 21.83.
  • Freshman All-OAC sprinter/hurdler Aidan Simmons (Frederick, Md. / Walkersville) won the 100-meter dash in a time of 10.77.
Field event highlights:
  • Senior thrower Joe Barnes (West Plains, Mo.) won the javelin throw with a distance of 44.27 meters.
  • Junior All-American long jumper Kaedan Faggs (Marion / Harding) won the long jump with a mark of 6.81 meters.
  • Senior All-OAC thrower Mason Kiesel (New London / South Central) won the shot put with a distance of 15.08 meters.
  • Senior All-American high jumper Christian Pfeiffer (Amherst) won the high jump with a mark of 2.07 meters.
  • Senior All-OAC thrower Kaleu Tellas (Indianapolis, Ind. / International School of Indiana) won the hammer throw with a distance of 54.11 meters.
On the relay side:
  • In the 4x100 relay crew, Simmons, Faggs, junior sprinter Rodney Washington Jr. (Warrensville Heights / Benedictine), and sophomore sprinter Joe Blahovec (Greensburg, Pa. / Greensburg Central Catholic) won in a time of 41.54.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, April 5 as they travel to Delaware, Ohio for the Marv Frye Invitational (hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University).
