Men's Outdoor Track and Field Claims First Place at Marv Frye Invitational

DELAWARE, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's outdoor track and field team competed in the Marv Frye Invitational, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University on the George Gauthier Track inside of Selby Stadium.

BW placed first out of 10 participating teams with 260 points.

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:
  • Sophomore distance runner Sage Egan (Toledo / Ottawa Hills) won the 5000-meter run in a time of 16:04.13.
  • Freshman All-Ohio Athletic Conference distance runner Will Prato (Massillon / Jackson) won the 800-meter run in a time of 1:55.15.
  • Junior All-OAC distance runner Sam Sikorski (Columbia Station / Columbia) won the 1500-meter run in a time of 4:04.38.
  • Freshman sprinter/hurdler Oliver Veliquette (Louisville, Ky. / Louisville Collegiate School) won the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 56.52.
Field event highlights:
  • Senior All-OAC thrower Mason Kiesel (New London / South Central) won the shot put with a mark of 15.31 meters.
  • Sophomore thrower Kitar Olsen (Whitefish, Mont.) won the hammer throw with a mark of 56.45 meters.
  • Senior All-American high jumper Christian Pfeiffer (Amherst) won the high jump with a distance of 2.09 meters.
On the relay side:
  • In the 4x100 relay squad, freshman All-OAC sprinter/hurdler Aidan Simmons (Frederick, Md. / Walkersville), sophomore All-OAC sprinter Wesley Noeth (Powell / Olentangy Liberty), junior sprinter Rodney Washington Jr. (Warrensville Heights / Benedictine) and sophomore sprinter Joe Blahovec (Greensburg, Pa. / Greensburg Central Catholic) won in a time of 41.76.
BW is back in action on Friday, April 11 for day one of the two-day All-Ohio Outdoor Championships (hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University).
