BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team defeated Wittenberg University in a non-conference men's and women's doubleheader by a final score of 6-1 on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts.

BW (2-9), who played its first home match of the spring, won three doubles matches and five singles matches.  Wittenberg (0-8) won one singles matches.

Doubles

• Sophomore Colleen Andersen (Ashtabula/St. John) and Olivia Koutouras (Avon Lake) won at first doubles by a score of 6-3
• Senior Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference Emma Trost (Norwalk) and sophomore Saraphina Groh (Cuyahoga Falls) won at second doubles by a score of 6-0
• Junior Gillian Brown (Brunswick) and sophomore Samantha Thielen (Toledo/Sylvania Northview) won at third doubles by forfeit.

Singles

• Andersen won at first singles by scores of 6-4 and 6-3
• Koutouras won at second singles by scores of 6-3 and 6-2
• Groh fell at third singles by scores of 6-2 and 6-3
• Trost won at fourth singles by scores of 6-0 and 6-1
• Brown won at fifth singles by identical scores of 6-0
• Thielen won at sixth singles by forfeit

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, April 3 when they travel to Ada for the OAC opener against Ohio Northern University on the West Campus Courts at 3:30 p.m.
