OBERLIN, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University women's track and field team opened its outdoor season as it competed in the Bob Kahn Invitational, hosted by Oberlin College on the Robert Kahn Track.
The meet was unscored.
The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:
- Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference sprinter Abby Collier (Dublin / Coffman) won the 400-meter dash in a time of 57.07. Collier also won the 200-meter dash in a time of 24.53.
- Freshman All-OAC sprinter/hurdler Jameire Honzu (Warren / Harding) won the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 14.96.
- Freshman All-OAC sprinter/hurdler Kenae Moore (Cypress, Texas / Bridgeland) won the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.70.
- Senior All-American distance runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) won the 1500-meter run in a time of 4:58.82. Murphy also won the 800-meter run in a time of 2:15.02.
Field event highlights:
- Sophomore All-OAC jumper Rylee Gorrell (Grove City, Pa. / Grove City Area) won the high jump with a distance of 1.58 meters.
- Freshman jumper Morgan Riley (Bay Village / St. Joseph Academy) won the pole vault with a mark of 3.05 meters.
On the relay side:
- In the 4x400 relay squad, Collier, junior All-OAC distance runner Katie Plecko (Rootstown), Moore, and Murphy finished second in a time of 4:14.42.
BW is back in action on Saturday, April 5 as it travels to Delaware, Ohio for the Marv Frye Invitational (hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University).
