DELAWARE, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University women's outdoor track and field team competed in the Marv Frye Invitational, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University on the George Gauthier Track inside of Selby Stadium.
BW placed second out of 10 participating teams with 155.50 points. Ohio Wesleyan University won the meet with 207 points.
The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:
- Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference sprinter Abby Collier (Dublin / Coffman) won the 400-meter dash in a time of 56.52.
- Senior All-American distance runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) won the 1500-meter run in a time of 4:44.36. Murphy also finished second in the 400-meter dash in a time of 59.78.
- Junior All-OAC distance runner Katie Plecko (Rootstown) placed second in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:24.84.
Field event highlights:
- Sophomore All-OAC jumper Rylee Gorrell (Grove City, Pa. / Grove City Area) won the high jump with a distance of 1.57 meters.
- Freshman thrower Janelle Rominger (Cambridge) won the hammer throw with a mark of 44.31 meters.
On the relay side:
- In the 4x400 relay crew, Collier, Plecko, freshman All-OAC sprinter/hurdler Jameire Honzu (Warren / Harding), and Murphy won in a time of 4:05.27.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Friday, April 11 for day one of the two-day All-Ohio Outdoor Championships (hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University).
