BEREA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University baseball team swept Heidelberg University in an Ohio Athletic Conference doubleheader by final scores of 4-1 and 4-3 at Fisher Field.
Game 1
Scoring Plays
- Bottom 6th - Junior outfielder Reid Fleming (Pickerington/North) laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt to tie the game
- Bottom 8th - Senior All-OAC first baseman Mally Kilbane (Olmsted Township/Olmsted Falls) smacked a go-ahead triple
- Bottom 8th - Sophomore infielder Colin West (Westborough, Mass./Worcester Academy) put the game on ice with a pinch-hit, two-run homer
At the Plate
- Kilbane led all players going 3-for-4 notching a single, double, and triple with an RBI and run scored
- West drove in a game-high two RBI after his home run in his only at-bat of the game
- Although the Brown and Gold were held to only three hits entering the sixth, eight Jackets ended up notching a hit by the final out
On the Mound
- Senior right-hander Patrick Straub (Naperville, Ill./Metea Valley) had his best start as a Yellow Jacket by striking out seven over 7.1 innings while allowing only one run on three hits and a walk
- Sophomore All-OAC right-hander Jake Heatherington (Bellaire) got the win after pitching 1.2 innings where he struck out three of his five batters faced

Scoring Plays
- Bottom 6th - Junior All-OAC shortstop Sean Kolenich (Parma/St. Edward) broke BW's scoring drought with a two-run triple
- Bottom 9th - West singled to right field but an error by the Student Princes allowed a BW run to score and put the winning run 90 feet away
- Bottom 9th - Senior designated hitter Nathan Zinn (Columbus/Worthington Kilbourne) was the hero of Game 2 after delivering the walk-off single to left center
At the Plate
- West went 3-for-4 to lead the team
- Kilbane and Zinn each tallied two hits
- Kolenich knocked in a game-best two RBI
- Heidelberg's Sam Schneider had a perfect day at the plate going 5-for-5 with two runs scored
On the Mound
- Sophomore right-hander Matt Moscarino (Strongsville/Padua Franciscan) stayed strong through 7.2 innings where he allowed two earned runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out four
- BW's late-inning heroics gave senior Academic All-OAC right-hander Kade Swisher (Berea/Berea-Midpark) the win after he pitched the final 1.1 innings where he struck out two and let up three hits
