DELAWARE, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University women's track and field team competed at the All-Ohio Outdoor Championships, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University on the George Gauthier Track inside of Selby Stadium.
BW placed fourth out of 12 participating teams with 74 points. Ohio Northern University won the meet with 139 points.
The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:
- Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference sprinter Abby Collier (Dublin / Coffman) won the 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash in a time of 24.65 and 56.89, respectively.
- Freshman All-OAC sprinter/hurdler Jameire Honzu (Warren / Harding) placed second in the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 14.31.
Field event highlights:
- Sophomore All-OAC jumper Rylee Gorrell (Grove City, Pa. / Grove City Area) won the high jump with a distance of 1.58 meters.
- Freshman thrower Janelle Rominger (Cambridge) finished fifth in the hammer throw with a mark of 45.61 meters.
On the relay side:
- In the 4x100 relay crew, freshman All-OAC sprinter/hurdler Kenae Moore (Cypress, Texas / Bridgeland), Collier, junior sprinter Jessica Klonowski (Parma / Holy Name), and Honzu placed second in a time of 48.95.
Senior All-American distance runner
Hope Murphy (Mogadore) competed in the Bison Outdoor Classic, hosted by NCAA Division I Bucknell (Pa.) University.
- Murphy competed in the 800-meter run, placing 11th in a time of 2:10.95. She also competed in the 1500-meter run invite, finishing in a time of 5:00.82.
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Friday, April 18 for the Otterbein Twilight at 10:00 a.m. and the 55th Sparky Adams Invitational at 11:00 a.m.
