Women's Outdoor Track and Field Earns Fourth Place at 55th Annual Sparky Adams Invitational

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's outdoor track and field team competed in its first home meet of the outdoor season in the 55th Sparky Adams Invitational.

BW placed fourth out of 12 participating teams with 74 points. NCAA Division I Cleveland State University won the meet with 148 points.

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:
  • Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference sprinter Abby Collier (Dublin / Coffman) won the 200-meter dash and the 400-meter dash in a time of 24.56 and 56.21, respectively.
  • Senior All-American distance runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore) finished second in the 1500-meter run in a time of 4:45.46.
Field event highlights:
  • Sophomore All-OAC jumper Rylee Gorrell (Grove City, Pa. / Grove City Area) placed second in the high jump with a distance of 1.62 meters.
On the relay side:
  • In the 4x100 relay crew, freshman All-OAC sprinter/hurdler Kenae Moore (Cypress, Texas / Bridgeland), junior All-OAC sprinter Morgan Aloi (Sylvania / Sylvania Northview), junior sprinter Jessica Klonowski (Parma / Holy Name), and freshman sprinter Amaya Crowder (Holloman Air Force Base, N.M. / Alamogordo) finished third in a time of 50.44.
  • In the 4x400 relay squad, Collier, junior All-OAC distance runner Katie Plecko (Rootstown), Crowder, and Murphy placed third in a time of 4:02.03.
BW is back in action on Thursday, April 24 for the Walsh Tune-Up (hosted by University of Mount Union).
