Women's Lacrosse Defeats Marietta on Seniors' Day

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse team faced Marietta College for its Seniors' Day game in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup on the Tressel Field inside of the George Finnie Stadium. The Yellow Jackets defeated the Pioneers by a 16-7 final score.

Prior to the start of the game, BW honored five senior student-athletes: All-OAC defender Lauren Comack (Cranberry Township, Pa. / Seneca Valley), All-OAC defender Carly Kern (Gibsonia, Pa. / Mars Area), All-OAC midfielder Rennick Mellon (Akron / Archbishop Hoban), midfielder Taylor Miklos (Brunswick), and attack Lily Tope (Delaware / Hayes).

BW (8-8, 4-2 OAC) was led by sophomore All-OAC midfielder Clare Alic (Carmel, Ind. / Guerin Catholic) and freshman midfielder Ella Szalay (Struthers / Cardinal Mooney) as they both tallied four goals.

1st Quarter

  • The Yellow Jackets won the draw control battle by a 6-1 margin
  • The Brown and Gold outshot the Pioneers 11-3

  • Marietta won the draw control battle by a 4-3 margin

BW is back in action on Wednesday, April 23 for its regular season finale in an OAC road contest against Ohio Northern University. The game is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. inside of Dial-Roberson Stadium.
