BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team dropped a rescheduled Ohio Athletic Conference match to Ohio Northern University in by a final score of 6-1 on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts.
BW (14-4, 1-2 OAC) and Ohio Northern (8-7, 2-0 OAC) were originally scheduled to play on April 9 but were postponed due to inclement weather.
The Yellow Jackets won one doubles match, and one singles matches. The Polar Bears won two doubles doubles matches and five singles matches.
Doubles
- Junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Matt McGee (Ottawa Hills) and junior Academic All-OAC Henry Harders (Ottawa Hills) fell at first doubles by a score 6-3
- Junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Will Horvath (Oregon/Clay) and freshman Tyler Fenton (Williamstown, W.Va.) fell at second doubles by a score of 6-3
- Freshman Vinny Cannata (Aurora) and junior All-OAC and Academic All-OAC Jacob Weingart (Tiffin/Columbian) won at third doubles by a score of 6-4
Singles
- Horvath won at first singles by scores of 6-3 and 6-4
- McGee fell at second singles by scores of 6-4 and 6-3
- Cannata fell at third singles by scores of 6-4, 4-6 and 1-0 (11-9)
- Harders fell at fourth singles by scores of 6-1 and 6-4
- Freshman Will Westberry (Niles, Mich./St. Joseph's {Ind.}) fell at fifth singles by scores of 6-3 and 6-1
- Weingart fell at sixth singles by scores of 6-3 and 6-2
BW is back in action on Wednesday, April 23 when it closes out the OAC portion of its schedule as it hosts crosstown rival John Caroll University at 3:30 p.m.
