SALISBURY, Md. - The Baldwin Wallace University baseball team split Day 2 of the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament hosted by Salisbury (Md.) University to advance to the Regional Championship Series as they fell to Salisbury by a final score of 15-5 and defeated Ramapo College of New Jersey by a final score of 4-3 at Donnie Williams Sea Gull Stadium.

- Top 1st - Senior All-OAC first baseman Mally Kilbane (Olmsted Township/Olmsted Falls) delivered the first hit of the game with an RBI single up the middle
- Top 3rd - Junior All-OAC third baseman Sean Kolenich (Parma/St. Edward) doubled down the left field line to get a run back for the Jackets as junior All-OAC center fielder Dennis Ritlinger-Nirider (Grove City) turned on the jets to score from first
- Top 4th - Sophomore second baseman Carson Petrecca (Willowick/Eastlake North) pulled the Brown and Gold within one with an opposite field solo home run
- Top 4th - Senior All-OAC left fielder Joey Marousek (North Royalton) tied the ballgame with an RBI double off the wall as sophomore catcher Mason Fixx (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) came around to score
- Top 9th - After a triple by senior All-OAC right fielder Justin Carinci (Ajax, Ontario/Pickering), Kilbane drove in another run with an RBI double down the line
At the Plate
- Kilbane and sophomore designated hitter Colin West (Westborough, Mass./Worcester Academy) each went 2-for-4 with a single and a double
- Fixx finished 2-for-3 with a run scored
- Ritlinger-Nirider also finished with two hits and scored one run
On the Mound
- Junior All-OAC left-hander Brit Kostura (Tequesta, Fla./Jupiter Christian School) got his first NCAA Tournament start where he went 4.2 innings and allowed nine runs on 13 hits and two walks while adding one punchout
- Junior All-OAC right-hander Tyler Walker (Fairlawn/Copley) pitched the final 3.1 innings where he had one strikeout and allowed six runs on 10 hits and two walks

- Bottom 1st - Carinci got the scoring started with a sac fly to right allowing Marousek to score
- Bottom 3rd - A sac fly off the bat of Ritlinger-Nirider was just deep enough to bring home Carinci and extend BW's lead
- Bottom 6th - Marousek smacked a single up the middle to break the scoring drought for both teams
- Bottom 7th - Ritlinger-Nirider hit his 11th home run of the season to tie the most among OAC players
At the Plate
- Ritlinger-Nirider went a team-best 3-for-4 including a couble and a homer with two RBI
- Marousek continues to make his case for a spot on the All-Tournament team going 2-for-3 with an RBI
- Carinci went 1-for-2 with an RBI, a run scored, and a stolen base
On the Mound
- Sophomore right-hander Matt Moscarino (Strongsville/Padua Franciscan) went seven scoreless innings to pick up the win in his first NCAA Tournament appearance where he struck out four and allowed only four hits and one walk
- Senior right-hander Patrick Straub (Naperville, Ill./Metea Valley) pitched 1.2 innings in relief allowing three runs on five hits and a walk with one strikeout
- Freshman left-hander Tyler Vogel (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) slammed the door in the ninth by striking out the final batter with the tying run on second to pick up his first career save

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Sunday, May 18 as they begin the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament Championship Series hosted by Salisbury (Md.) University by taking on Salisbury at 11 a.m. at Donnie Williams Sea Gull Stadium. If necessary, the second game of the Championship Series will be at 2:30 p.m.
