WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's outdoor track and field team finished in second place after the second and final day of the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by Wilmington College.
BW was second of 10 teams with 143 points. University of Mount Union won the OAC Outdoor Championships with 210 points.
During tonight's podium ceremony, senior All-OAC thrower
Thomas Hickman (Oxford / Talawanda) was recognized as the Most Outstanding Field Athlete.
The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:
- Junior All-OAC distance runner Sam Sikorski (Columbia Station / Columbia) earned All-OAC honors after placing second in the 1500-meter run in a time of 3:53.17.
Field event highlights:
- Senior All-OAC thrower Mason Kiesel (New London / South Central) earned All-OAC honors after winning the shot put with a distance of 16.09 meters.
- Junior All-OAC jumper Drexton Friscone (Columbia Station / Columbia) earned All-OAC honors in the triple jump after finishing third with a mark of 13.84 meters.
- Hickman earned All-OAC honors in the hammer throw after placing third with a distance of 57.21 meters.
- Sophomore jumper Connor Radojcsics (Mount Gilead / Northmor) earned All-OAC honors in the pole vault after finishing third with a mark of 4.58 meters.
BW is back in action on Thursday, May 8 as it hosts day one (throws only) of the two-day Harrison Dillard Twilight. Thursday's action is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds Throws Facility.
