ERIE, Pa. – The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team concluded it's two-game slate at Behrend Stadium by falling to Penn State Behrend in the final minutes, 2-1.

The game came down to both teams scoring a combined three goals over the final 16 minutes. BW (0-2) went ahead on a goal scored by Max Yakym (Parma/Normandy), his and the team's first goal of 2025. The Lions (1-0-1) responded by scoring twice in the final eight minutes to steal the game from the Yellow Jackets.

BW Leaders

• Yakym's goal was his first of the 2025 season; he had five of them a season ago

• Braden Lamb (Cleveland/Lutheran West) came clutch down the stretch and was responsible for the assist to Yakym's goal

• Robbie Rochford (Fairlawn/Copley) took two shots to lead the Brown and Gold on offense outside of the goal scored

• Senior All-Academic Ohio Athletic Conference member Mathew Skladany (Cleveland/St. Edward), junior Dominic Massaro (Lewiston, N.Y./Lewiston Porter), Sophomore Carver Ulrich (Dover), and sophomore Maguire Alden (Alexandria, Va./Thomas A. Edison) all in addition to Yakym had one shot on goal to lead the offense

• Diego Teran (Exton, Pa./Henderson) had three saves as the goalkeeper

• BW totaled nine shots while PSU Behrend only had six

Penn State Behrend Leaders

• Senior Reilly Nickles and sophomore Andrew Lucas scored the goals for PSU Behrend

• Assists were added by Nickles and defender Brock Keifer

• Anthony Scalise had four saves

First Half (Tied 0-0)

• Both games in 2025 have seen a scoreless first half for the Yellow Jackets. They took seven shots in the half, and the Lions only took one

Second Half (Penn State Behrend 2-1)

• 74:44 - BW got on the board with a goal scored by Yakym. Their first in 164 minutes of action, Lamb was on the assist, and the Yellow Jackets were in position with a few minutes to go

• 82:38 - The Lions got on the board with Nickles scoring. There was no assist on the play.

• 88:15 - Lucas connected with less than two minutes to play on an assist from Keifer to ultimately give PSU Behrend the lead and their first victory of 2025
