LEXINGTON, Ky – The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team dropped a close affair with Transylvania (Ky) University by a score of 2-1 at Pat Deacon Stadium.

After being a tie game for a good chunk of the second half, BW (3-5-1) allowed a goal that was able to put Transylvania (4-2-1) up for the last 32 minutes, and the Pioneers held on from there to get the victory. 

BW Leaders 

• Junior transfer Dominic Massaro (Lewiston, N.Y./Lewiston Porter) led the team for BW by scoring a goal 34 minutes into the first half, good enough for the only goal of the game for the Brown and Gold

• Massaro also helped lead the team with two shots and one on goal

• Along with Massaro, sophomore Carter Richardson (Grafton/Midview) also led the Yellow Jackets with two shots taken

• Senior Academic All-OAC forward Mike Kane (Kent/Hudson), junior Braden Lamb (Cleveland/Lutheran West), and freshman Omar Alhaldi (Middleburg Heights/Berea-Midpark) also added a shot on goal to lead the team with Massaro in the respective category

• Junior Seth Warrick (Avon) was the goalie for BW, and he had three saves 

Transylvania Leaders

• Senior Midfielder Nathan White led the way by scoring both of the goals for the Pioneers

• White also led the team with five shots; three of them were on goal 

• Juniors Gus Dickman and Nick Haskins led the way with one assist each

• Sophomore goalkeeper Ethan Drew had three saves to protect the Transylvania net

First Half (Tied 1-1)

• 16:27 - Transylvania got themselves on the board first on a goal scored by White, assisted by Haskins

• 34:05 - Massaro did his part to tie the game up at one, tallying his first goal of the season, and the battle was tied at the halfway point

Second Half

• 58:45 - White added another goal to give Transylvania their second lead of the afternoon by a score of 2-1, with Dickman coming in on the assist, which ultimately became the deciding outcome for BW's ninth game of 2025
