No. 10 Women's Basketball Sweeps Season Series with Muskingum on Seniors' Day

BEREA, Ohio - The No. 10 nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace women's basketball team continued their winning streak as they defeated Ohio Athletic Conference opponent Muskingum University by a final score of 63-39 inside the Ursprung Gymnasium while celebrating seniors' day.

Coming out of halftime, BW played with no regard for their opponent. They outscored Muskingum 26-9. Throughout the game, BW was not making it easy for the Muskies to score. The Yellow Jackets held their opponent to a season-low 22.6% field goal percentage.

BW Leaders
  • Senior Academic All-OAC forward Brooke Thompson (Maineville/Little Miami) was dominant as she recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 12 points and game-high 12 rebounds, to go along with a block and an assist
  • Senior guard Leah Riley (Cincinnati/Sycamore) added some juice off the bench as she tallied nine points, five rebounds, and two assists
  • Senior guard Kaycie Badylak (Cincinnati/Archbishop McNicholas) added eight points, including two buckets from behind the arc
  • Senior forward Alyssa Miller (New Philadelphia) was filling up the stat sheet, scoring four points, grabbing five rebounds, blocking three shots, and adding a steal as well

Muskingum Leaders
  • Junior forward Mckinzi Linscott had a team-high nine points to go along with her nine rebounds and game-high four blocks
  • Senior guard/forward Claudia Harrington finished with six points, four rebounds, and a steal
  • Senior guard Tori Jones recorded six points, two steals, and one rebound

1st Quarter (BW 12-7)
  • Junior guard Ava Wilkerson (West Mansfield/Marysville) connected on the Yellow Jackets' first five points, including a three-pointer in the opening minute on a nice pass from Thompson
  • The Brown and Gold out-rebounded Muskingum on the glass 16-10
  • BW connected on one three-pointer compared to Muskingum's none

2nd Quarter (BW 26-21)
  • Tori Jones opened up the scoring in the opening minute, where she split from the line
  • The Muskies went on a 6-0 run in the first 1:58 to take a 14-12 lead
  • Both teams went back and forth until BW ended the period on a 7-1 run in the final 3:02
  • The Yellow Jackets shot a more efficient 5-11 from the field
  • The Muskies out-rebounded BW on the glass 11-8

3rd Quarter (BW 52-30)
  • Junior guard Laura McCoy (Newtown Falls /Garrettsville Garfield) kicked off the scoring with a layup in the opening minute
  • The Yellow Jackets held Muskingum to just two points in the final 6:15, resulting in a 14-2 run
  • BW outrebounded Muskingum on the glass 17-10
  • The Yellow and Gold connected on five three-point attempts compared to none from Muskingum

4th Quarter (BW 63-39)
  • Linscott started off the scoring with a layup in the opening minute
  • Sophomore forward Maddy Stumpf (Johnstown/Big Walnut) subbed in and immediately made a layup on a pass from junior guard Taylor Bass (Strongsville)
  • BW held Muskingum to three of thirteen from the field
  • The Brown and Gold out-rebounded the Muskies on the glass 17-11
