CLEVELAND – The Baldwin Wallace University women's swimming and diving team wrapped up the regular season as it fell in a pair of non-conference meets at the Cleveland City Classic hosted by NCAA Division I Cleveland State University inside the Robert F. Busbey Natatorium.
BW (7-4) fell to Cleveland State by a final score of 202-39 and to crosstown rival John Carroll University by a final score of 167-70.
Individuals
- Freshman Eden Stahlin (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer), who is this week's Ohio Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week) placed fifth in the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 11:49.08 and was eighth in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:52.37
- Sophomore All-OAC stroker Brooke Radcliff (North Canton/Hoover) placed fifth in the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:17.18 and was ninth in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:04.86
- Junior stroker Abby Marquardt (Pickerington/Central) finished sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:13.58
- Sophomore All-OAC freestyler Amelia Wands (East Amherst, N.Y./Williamsville North) finished sixth in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 58.32 and seventh in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 25.90
- Senior Academic All-OAC freestyler Ariel Lisy (Strongsville) finished ninth in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:14.07
- Senior All-OAC stroker Mallory Upcraft (Oswego, N.Y.) finished 10th in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:06.01
- Junior Academic All-OAC stroker Ashley Slife (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf) finished 10th in the 100-yard backstroke and was 11th in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:06.62
Diving
- Sophomore All-OAC Makenna Mincey (Brunswick/Magnificat) placed third in the 1-meter with 263.75 points.
- Sophomore All-OAC Emmalie Mitzel (Massillon/Jackson) took fourth in the 1-meter with 238.00 points
Relays
- The 200-yard medley squad of Radcliff, Marquardt, Upcraft and Wands finished sixth in a time of 1:59.69
- The 200-yard freestyle team of Wands, freshman stroker Sydney Harbour (North Canton/GlenOak), Upcraft and Radcliff finished sixth in a time of 1:47.93
- The 400-yard freestyle unit of Slife, Stahlin, Marquardt and sophomore freestyler Annalise Bolton (Berea/Berea-Midpark) finished sixth in a time of 4:11.41
The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, February 18 when they travel to Akron for the first night of the OAC Championships hosted by the University of Mount Union inside the Ocasek Natatorium on the campus of the University of Akron at 7:45 p.m.
