Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Late Goal Ends Dramatic-Fashioned Draw for Women's Soccer on Seniors' Day

BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's soccer team celebrated seniors' day by drawing Wilmington College on the turf of George Finnie Stadium for their second consecutive game with a tie score in it and their third overall in 2026.

Prior to the game, the Brown and Gold honored players Jordyn Becker, Reagan Barth, Mallory Bible, Kelly Carver, Mia Fourtounis, Savanna Goodman, Grace Helmke, Ella James, Katie King, Sage Perry, and Kalyn Rich, along with student assistant coaches Reagan Barth and Madi Schweinberg, on their careers at BW and their departures from the program following the conclusion of the season.

After trailing until the one-minute mark, a goal scored by Hayden Elmilinger was the reason why the contest ended in a tie, her second of the year. The freshman helped cap a day in which her seniors will take with them for the rest of their lives and now sit at 6-6-3 overall and 1-2-1 in the conference.

Game Recap
The game started off scoreless for the first 29 minutes of it as both teams were having a hard time finding the net and getting shots off. Wilmington scored the first goal of the game at the 30-minute mark, grabbing a 1-0 lead, that was the difference heading into the locker room. The Brown and Gold got off five shots in the opening frame.

The second half started off in a very similar fashion as the first half did, with each team going scoreless in the first 24 minutes of it. Sophomore midfielder Bre Goerl got BW on the board shortly after entering the contest to tie it all up at one with a little under 20 minutes to go. Three and a half minutes later, the Quakers answered on a goal of their own to make it a 2-1 contest in favor of Wilmington.

In an intense game, BW refused to go quietly. They took four shots right in a row before Elmlinger connected to tie it up at two. A huge roar from the crowd and the Yellow Jacket bench erupted before both teams dribbled the ball around for the last 80 seconds and a few throw-ins, ending the second OAC game this season in which they've scored multiple goals.

The Matchup
The Yellow Jackets and the Quakers have met 17 times since the start of the 2013 season. BW has the lead in these games, 9-5-3.

Looking Ahead
The Brown and Gold are back on the field Wednesday night, October 21, when the team plays host to Muskingum University. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
