Baseball Defeats Webster (Mo.) For Second Consecutive Win

LEXINGTON, Ky.
 - The 29th-ranked Baldwin Wallace University baseball team finished off the weekend with a win against Webster University (Mo.) in Legends Stadium. The game was tightly contested and very defensive, but BW's defense held out, and the Yellow Jackets took the game by a score of 2-0.

Scoring Summary

Bottom 1st – Senior outfielder Dennis Ritlinger-Nirider (Grove City) got an RBI double for the first run of the game, and BW took a 1-0 lead

Bottom 3rd – Senior third baseman Sean Kolenich (Parma/St Edward) hit a solo home run to extend the Yellow Jackets' lead to two

At the Plate

  • Kolenich went 1-for-3 at the plate with a home run and added a walk and a stolen base
  • Ritlinger-Nirider's only at-bat of the game was to hit the RBI double in the first. He finished 1-for-1 with an RBI
  • Junior designated hitter Colin West (Westborough, Mass./Worcester Academy) went 1-for-4 with a double

On the Mound

  • Junior right-hander Matt Moscarino (Strongsville/Padua Franciscan) pitched eight scoreless innings with seven strikeouts, while only allowing seven runners to reach base
  • Sophomore right-hander Sam Hoffman (Mentor/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin) pitched one inning in relief with no runs allowed, two strikeouts, and only one Gorlok reached base
