Women’s Lacrosse Scores Season-High to Defeat Oglethorpe in Georgia

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Baldwin Wallace University women's lacrosse team beat the Oglethorpe University Stormy Petrels with some great offensive play. The Yellow Jackets took a big early lead and never looked back, finishing the game with a 20-6 win.
 
BW Leaders (3-2)
  • Junior attack Emma Northrup (Hudson) scored four goals on four shots
  • Freshman attack Hayley Huston (Strongsville) and sophomore midfield Lexi Miller (Strongsville) each notched three goals
  • Senior attack Carley House (Hilliard / Darby) led BW with five assists and added two goals
  • Freshman goalie Aubrey Berner (Columbus / Dublin Coffman) recorded 11 saves and only allowed six goals through 52 minutes of play.
 
Oglethorpe Leaders (2-5)
  • Junior midfield Anna Conza scored two goals and added an assist
  • Senior attack Anna Ramsden also scored two goals
  • Freshman goalie Madelyn Gardner notched seven saves
 
1st Quarter (BW 6-1)
  • Sophomore midfield Izzy Medrick (Strongsville) opened the scoring for the Yellow Jackets
  • BW went on a 5-0 run to start the game
  • Northrup and Huston scored two goals apiece in the quarter
 
2nd Quarter (BW 12-3)
  • BW outscored Oglethorpe 6-2
  • The Yellow Jackets outshot the Stormy Petrels, 10-8
  • Miller scored the last two goals of the half for BW
 
3rd Quarter (BW 17-5)
  • BW ended the third quarter with a 5-0 run
  • Sophomore attack Bella Bellino (McDonald, Pa. / Canon-McMillin) notched two assists in the quarter
  • Berner had four saves in the quarter
 
4th Quarter (BW 20-6)
  • BW won three out of four draw controls in the quarter
  • House added two assists in the fourth
