THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – The No. 18 nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace University men's volleyball team beat No. 14 Wentworth (Mass.) Institute of Technology by a score of 3-2 in Gilbert Arena at California Lutheran University to start the three-day Cal-Lu Fornia Invitational.
BW (14-5) started the match by dropping the first two sets 18-25 and 19-25. In the third set, stayed above water in a back-and-forth battle, only allowing Wentworth to have a two-point lead at any point in the set before winning 25-22. The fourth set was won by BW 25-23. The fifth set was won by the Brown and Gold by the largest margin of any set, 15-9.
BW Leaders (14-5)
- Freshman outside hitter Tyler Schunk (Eden, N.Y.) led the Yellow Jackets with 14 kills.
- Freshman setter Ethan Gundrum (Cincinnati/McNicholas) had 45 assists and six digs to lead the team.
- Senior All-MCVL middle hitter Colby Whiteside (Powell/Olentangy Liberty) was the leading blocker with eight blocks for a season high.
