THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - The No. 18 nationally ranked Baldwin Wallace University men's volleyball team lost both games of a Monday doubleheader against No. 13 Aurora University (Ill.) and Kean University (N.J.) at the Cal-Lu Fornia Invitational. They ended the invitational with a 1-3 record.
BW (14-8, 2-1 MCVL) fell to No. 13 Aurora University (Ill.) in three sets, 18-25, 22-25, and 19-25 in the first match of the evening. In the second match of the doubleheader, the Yellow Jackets got taken to five sets where they ultimately lost the match in the final set to Kean University (N.J.). The scores of that match were 25-18, 25-23, 24-26, 23-25, and 7-15.
Vs. No. 13 Aurora (Ill.) (0-3)
- Junior right-side hitter Jacob Esteves (Wickliffe / St. Edward) led BW with 13 kills on .409 hitting percentage and had five digs
- Freshman outside hitter Tyler Schunk (Eden, N.Y) led the Yellow Jackets in both digs, with seven, and service aces, with two, and added five kills
- Freshman setter Ethan Gundrum (Cincinnati / McNicholas) had 24 assists and three digs
Vs. Kean (N.J.) (2-3)
- Schunk led BW in both kills and digs with 18 and 12, respectively
- Junior outside hitter Daniel Latham (Westerville / Westerville Central) had 15 kills, 10 digs, and added 1.5 blocks
- Freshman outside hitter David Thompson (Chesterfield, Va. / Cosby) had 12 kills and added seven digs
- Gundrum led the Brown and Gold with 51 assists and had six digs
