NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's outdoor track and field team, led by Head Coach
Joe Eby, finished in third place out of nine teams at the conclusion of the two-day Ohio Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships, hosted by Muskingum University on the Johnson Family Track inside the Bullock Health and Wellness Complex. The Yellow Jackets scored 154 points.
The top three finishers in each final event were recognized as Outdoor All-OAC student-athletes. There were 10 Yellow Jackets named All-OAC today and 15 total including yesterday. The Brown and Gold boasted eight OAC Champions on the podium too.
Track Event Highlights
- Junior Indoor All-OAC hurdler Samuel Skor (Columbia Station/Columbia) placed third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.11 seconds to be named Outdoor All-OAC.
- Sophomore All-Ohio sprinter/hurdler Aidan Simmons (Frederick, Md./Walkersville) was named All-OAC in the 200m dash with a 21.66 second third-place finish.
- Sophomore All-Ohio distance runner Nick Swartz (Marion/Pleasant) finished runner-up in the 5000m run with a career-best 14:59.57 time.
Field Event Highlights
- Senior All-Ohio sprinter/jumper Drexton Friscone (Columbia Station/Columbia) placed third in the triple jump with his 13.34m (43' 9.25") mark to be named All-OAC.
- Junior All-American thrower Kitar Olsen (Whitefish, Mont.) became the OAC Champion in the hammer throw with his 53.48m (175' 5") throw.
- Senior All-Ohio thrower Mason Kiesel (New London/South Central) was named All-OAC and OAC Champion in the shot put with his 16.25m (53' 3.75") put.
- Junior All-American jumper Amari Waddy (Fort Campbell, Ky.) cleared a career-best high jump height of 2.07m (6' 9.5") to be named OAC Champion. His mark is also tied for ninth in the nation.
Relay Highlights
- Senior All-Ohio sprinter Rodney Washington Jr. (Warrensville Heights/Benedictine), Simmons, junior Academic All-OAC sprinter Joe Blahovec (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic), and senior All-American sprinter/jumper Kaedan Faggs (Marion/Harding) were named All-OAC in the 4x100m relay with a 41.71 second third-place finish.
