BEREA, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to the Washington & Jefferson College Presidents today in a non-conference matchup at the Pop Collins Tennis Courts.

Washington & Jefferson opened the match by sweeping all three doubles contests to take a 3-0 lead. Colleen Andersen and Olivia Koutouras fell to Claire Loomis and Keiran Moorhead, 6-3, while Emma Reynolds and Zoe Pafford dropped a 6-1 decision to Mackenzie Gumto and Maya Hamade. Kate Slutz and Ashley Franks fell to Keira Ross and Addison Jacobs, 6-3.
Andersen picked up the Yellow Jackets' lone point of the afternoon in singles play, defeating Moorhead, 6-3 and 6-4. Emma Reynolds fell to Loomis, 6-3 and 6-3, while Koutouras dropped a 6-1 and 7-5 decision to Hamade.
Ross defeated Slutz, 6-0 and 6-0, while Gumto defeated Pafford, 6-3 and 6-2. Jacobs rounded out singles play with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Makayla Rader.
Looking Ahead
Baldwin Wallace will return to action on Saturday, October 3rd to take on DII opponent, Ursuline College at the Mayfield Village Racquet Club. Competition is set to start at 1:00 p.m.
