In the classroom, the BW football student-athlete is expected to excel. Since the Academic All-America program began by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) in 1972, 36 football student-athletes have earned the title of Academic All-American. That is the most of any current OAC school.
While a number of individual sports sponsor an honor squad/ team, CoSIDA has trademarked the term “Academic All-American” and other programs are referred as “Scholar All-America” or other.
