BW ATHLETICS INFORMATION: Derrick Wells, Jr. tried to play his first season of football at Baldwin Wallace University in 2016-2017, but an injury prevented the freshman running back from completing the season. The freshman running back earned a certificate of participation.
THROUGH-THE-YEARS: As a freshman in 2016-2017, Derrick tried to play his first season of football, but an injury prevented the RB from completing the season. The BW junior varsity had a 6-1 record and the varsity finished 3-7 overall.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: Derrick grew up in Toledo, Ohio and graduated from Toledo Scott High School.
Derrick played played football and competed in track and earned five total varsity letters, including three in football (2013-15) and two in track (2014 and 2016).
In football, Derrick was an All-City (Toledo) selection at linebacker as a junior (2014) and senior (2015).
