ACADEMIC MAJOR:  Finance & Healthcare Management

BW ATHLETICS INFORMATION: Nathan Ferster played his third season of football at Baldwin Wallace University in 2015-2016. He earned his second varsity letter and was a key starter in the defensive secondary.

ACADEMIC SUCCESS:  Nathan carries a 3.33 grade point average.

GENERAL FOOTBALL INFORMATION: As a freshman in 2012-2013, Nathan did not play football due to an injury. He could receive a medical red-shirt. BW finished 7-3 overall.

As a red-shirt freshman in 2013-2014, Nathan played his first season of football and received a certificate of participation. He saw action on the junior varsity team and dressed for some varsity games as a defensive back. BW finished 6-4 overall.

As a sophomore in 2014-2015, Nathan played his second season of football and earned his first varsity letter. He saw playing time and started several games at cornerback and was a key member of the special teams. In seven games, Nathan had nine total tackles, including seven solo stops, and a pass breakup. BW finished 5-5 overall.

As a junior in 2015-2016, Nathan played his third season of football and earned his second letter. He was a key starter and returning letterman and in the defensive secondary. Nathan made 25 total tackles, including 17 solo stops, and was second on the team with nine pass breakups. BW finished 7-3 overall.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: Nathan Ferster grew up in Olmsted Falls, Ohio and graduated from Olmsted Falls High School. 

Nathan played football for four years and earned  three varsity letters. He also played four years of baseball and earned three letters. 

In football, Nathan was named All-Southwestern Conference as both a junior in 2010 and senior in 2011. He also earned All-District honors as a junior in 2010. As a senior, Nathan had a personal-best of 167 receiving yards in a game. As a senior in 2011, he had six interceptions and 10 pass breakups.

Nathan was a SWC honorable mention selection in baseball as a junior in 2011.

FAMILY CONNECTION:  Nathan's older brother, Zach Ferster '15, was a four-year letterman and major contributor to a BW baseball team that made two NCAA Division III National Tournament apearances, including the school's first-ever Div. III College World Series appearance in 2014.
