BALDWIN WALLACE ATHLETICS INFORMATION: Matt Dennis will play in his third season of basketball at Baldwin Wallace in 2013-2014.
GENERAL BASKETBALL INFORMATION: Matt is off to a solid basketball career thus far. BW recorded a 35-16 record during his first two seasons as a Yellow Jacket. He appeared in 21 games and averaged 0.9 points per game. Matt recorded 20 points and 7 steals during his two seasons.
As a freshman in 2011-12, Matt is playing his first season of basketball. He split time between the varsity and junior varsity at forward. Matt appeared in 11 games for the 16-10 overall Yellow Jackets. In 34 minutes of playing time, he scored six points, 2-of-5 from the floor and 1-of-5 from the foul line, grabbed nine rebounds and made two steals. Look for Matt to compete for more playing time next season.
As a sophomore in 2012-13, Matt completed his second season of basketball and earned his second varsity letter. He played in 10 games for the 19-6 Yellow Jackets tallied 14 points and 14 rebounds while shooting 4-of-10 from the field and 5-of-7 from the line. Matt also registered two assists and five steals. He scored a career-high six points in a 70-54 win at John Carroll University on Feb. 6.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: Matt Dennis grew up in Spring Hill, Florida and graduated from Nature Coast Technical High School. Matt played basketball and ran track for two years each. He earned two varsity letters in basketball.
Matt earned multiple accolades including following his junior year he was named first team All-Hernando County and Honorable Mention All-North Suncoast. Following his senior season of basketball, he received the same two honors the previous year, when he was named All-Hernando County and All-Conference. For his efforts during his senior year, he was named the team MVP and was selected to play in the Henando County All-Star Game. Statistically, he was his teams leader in steals, and he averaged a double double in points and rebounds during his senior year.
