Steve Oliver returns to Baldwin Wallace University for the 2026-27 season, joining the Yellow Jackets women's basketball program as an assistant coach.

Oliver is no stranger to BW, having previously served as a graduate assistant coach from 2022-24, where he was part of a staff that compiled a 44-13 record, made two NCAA Tournament appearances, and advanced to the Division III Sweet Sixteen in 2024. He also helped elevate the program's cumulative GPA to 3.741, ranking ninth in the 2023 WBCA Division III Academic Top 25 and first among all BW athletic programs.

Most recently, Oliver spent the 2025-26 season as an assistant coach at the University of Mount Union, where he helped lead the Raiders to an 18-9 record — the program's most wins since the 2015-16 season — a third-place finish in the Ohio Athletic Conference, and a berth in the OAC Tournament Semi-Finals. He contributed to the development of Elizabeth Mason (First Team All-OAC) and Mckayla Dunkle (Second Team All-OAC), while guiding the team to a 3.76 GPA in the fall 2025 semester.

Prior to Mount Union, Oliver served as assistant coach and director of basketball operations at the University of the Incarnate Word during the 2024-25 season, helping the Cardinals achieve an 18-13 record, earn an at-large selection to the WNIT Tournament, and post a program-record team GPA of 3.66.

Oliver began his coaching career as a student assistant with the Geneva College men's basketball program, contributing to a 36-28 record over three seasons and the program's first-ever PAC Championship appearance in 2020.

A native of Beaver Falls, Pa. and graduate of Blackhawk High School, Oliver earned a Bachelor of Science in sport management from Geneva College in 2022 and a Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in leadership in higher education from Baldwin Wallace University in 2024.
