ACADEMIC MAJOR: Communication Disorders
BW ATHLETICS INFORMATION: Alayna Chlad '15 played four seasons of volleyball at Baldwin Wallace University (2011-2014) and earned four varsity letters. She was a two-time Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference student-athlete.
ACADEMIC HONORS: Alayna carries a 3.92 grade point average, is a Dean's List student and Jacket Scholar. She also is a member of the Alpha Lambda, Dayton C. Miller and Chi Sigma Alpha honoraries.
Alayna received the Bonnie Raye Scholar-Athlete Award at Honors Day in 2015. She also received the BW Jerry Zemelka Award at the 2015 Student-Athletes Awards ceremony.
As both a junior in 2013-2014 and senior in 2014-2015, Alayna earned Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors.
BW HONORS DAY: At the 2015 BW Honors Day, Alayna was honored as an Outstanding Senior.
GENERAL VOLLEYBALL INFORMATION: Alayna Chlad played four years of volleyball and earned four varsity letters. She started as a senior at rightside hitter. During her career, BW posted a 56-62 record. Individually, Alayna was a two-time Academic All-OAC student-athlete. Statistically, she played in 68 matches and 230 sets, hit .150 with 386 kills, 104 defensive digs, 100 total blocks and 23 set assists.
As a freshman in 2011-2012, Alayna played her first season of volleyball amnd earned her first varsity. letter. In seven matches and 11 sets, Alayna had seven kills, three set assists, three digs and two block assists. BW finished 18-13 overall.
As a sophomore in 2012-2013, Alayna played her second season of volleyball team and earned her second letter. She played in four matches and 10 sets and had five kills and two digs. BW finished 12-16 overall.
As a junior in 2013-2014, Alayna played her third season of volleyball and earned her third letter. She played in 27 matches and 95 sets and had 142 kills, 35 digs, 45 blocks and two assists. Alayna was named to the 2013-2014 Academic All-OAC team. BW finished 11-18 overall.
As a senior in 2014-2015, Alayna played her fourth season season of volleyball and earned her fourth varsity letter. She started at right side hitter. Alayna played in all 30 matches and 114 sets, hit .a career-high .168 with 232 kills to rank second on the team. She also had 64 digs, 53 total blocks and 16 set assists. Alayna earned her second Academic All-OAC honor. BW finished 15-15 overall.

HOMETOWN & HIGH SCHOOL INFORMATION: Alayna Chlad grew up in Kent, Ohio and graduated from Roosevelt High School.
Alayna played four years of volleyball and received four letters. She also competed softball for one year and earned one varsity letter.
In volleyball as a senior, Alayna was named first-team Portage Trail Conference and honorable mention All-District. As a junior, she was named honorable mention All-PTC and as the Kent Roosevelt Most Valuable Defensive Player. Alayna also recieved a Scholar-Athlete Award all four years. Statistically, Alayna recorded 153 blocks during her senior year. She also had a career-high 11 kills in a game.
