Men's Soccer Falls to Otterbein in Saturday Nightcap

BEREA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team was defeated by Otterbein University by a final score of 3-0 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup on Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium.

BW (5-6-3, 0-3 OAC) and Otterbein (6-4-2, 2-1 OAC) battled for most of the first half before the Cardinals struck first with back-to-back goals. The Brown and Gold attack swarmed the box in the second half and had many chances to close the gap but could not find the net.

  • Sophomore forward Jordan Culley (Atlanta, Ga./Woodward Academy) took a game-high four shots
  • Freshman defender Brady Brown (Muskegon, Mich./Fruitport) shot three times with one on goal
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Seth Warrick (Avon) faced 11 shots and made four saves

  • Senior midfielder Carter Ely, junior midfielder Drew Boettcher, and sophomore forward Josh Lord each scored a goal
  • Junior midfielder Colm Oneacre and Senior forward Nick Isaac each had one assist
  • Freshman goalkeeper Jason Villalobos made four saves

  • 39:22 - Lord scored from deep to extend the Cardinal lead

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Wednesday, October 16 as they host an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup against crosstown rival John Carroll University at 7 p.m. on Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium.
