TIFFIN, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team tied Heidelberg University by a final score of 0-0 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup at the Hidden Valley Soccer Complex.
Despite playing 30 minutes of the second half with 10 men, BW (6-8-5, 1-5-2 OAC) was able to keep Heidelberg (1-13-2, 1-7 OAC) scoreless in the team's final roadtrip of the season.
BW Leaders
- Sophomore goalkeeper Seth Warrick (Avon) recorded five saves for his second shutout of the season
- Junior midfielder Michael Giganti (Uniontown/Lake) took three shots with two on goal
- Juniors Owen Reyes (North Olmsted) and Mike Kane (Kent/Hudson) each added three shots
Heidelberg Leaders
- Freshman goalkeeper Ryan Miller saved eight shots
- Freshman forward Brenden Turner took two shots on goal
- Sophomore forward Inigo Focinos and senior forward Hussein Faraj each took two shots
First Half (Tied 0-0)
- Miller made three saves and Warrick made one to keep both teams off the board
- The Yellow Jackets took nine shots to the Student Princes' two
Second Half (Tied 0-0)
- The Brown and Gold were forced to play a man down after a red card but still outshot Heidelberg 16-7
- Warrick added four more saves
- The Yellow Jackets had a chance to take the lead with a penalty kick but sophomore defender Jakob Young (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) missed just high of the top left corner of the goal
The Yellow Jackets wrap up the 2024 season on Saturday, November 2 as they host Seniors' Night and an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup against Muskingum University on Tressel Field inside George Finnie Stadium.
