BEREA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University Women's Volleyball team hosted its final home match facing Heidelberg University. The Yellow Jackets were overtaken by Heidelberg's Student Princes by a final score of 3-1 in an Ohio Athletic Conference matchup in the Ursprung Gymnasium inside the Lou Higgins Center.
BW (13-13, 2-6 OAC) headed into the game in an attempt to bounce back after their fall to No.11 Marietta College. This motivation fired them up into a flurry of attacks leading with 179 against Heidelberg's (12-13, 3-5 OAC) 169, but taking a turn and concluding in a defeat with a .123 hitting percentage versus the Student Princes' .219.
BW Leaders
- Freshman middle hitter Josie Lynn (Wabash, Ind./Northfield) accomplished five block assists while Gabby Wolfe & Riley Tople led the Student Princes with three blocks each
- Senior outside hitter Brinn MacLellan (Novelty/Gilmour Academy) handed out 18 kills, topping Heidelberg's Rylee Ritzhaupt's 12 kills
- Junior Academic All-OAC setter Katarina Blazetic (Deland, Fla./Deland) accomplished an exciting 38 assists overcoming Heidelberg's Maddie Reed's team-best 29 assists
- Senior All-OAC libero Lauren Gardner (Avon/Saint Joseph's Academy) led with 17 digs, while Heidelberg's Grace Dohanyos brought the heat with 18 digs including the 1,000th of her career
