Women's Volleyball Seizes Saturday Match Against Muskingum

NEW CONCORD, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University Women's Volleyball team defeated Muskingum University in the final Ohio Athletic Conference match of the season by a final score of 3-0 on Performance Court inside the Anne C. Steele Center.

BW (14-13, 3-6 OAC) conquered Muskingum (12-10,4-4 OAC) in a successful attempt to bounce back after falling to Heidelberg University earlier in the week. This drive led them to victory against the Fighting Muskies where they dominated every set of the match to earn a win in their last conference game of the year.

BW Leaders

  • Junior Academic All-OAC outside hitter Gabby Schlecht (Naperville, Ill./North) led Baldwin Wallace with 11 kills, seven digs and brought home a total of 15.5 points
  • Freshman middle hitter Josie Lynn (Wabash, Ind./Northfield) added 11 kills and four solo blocks for the Yellow Jackets
  • Senior All-OAC libero Lauren Gardner (Avon/Saint Joseph Academy) handed out a whopping 13 digs
  • Junior Academic All-OAC setter Katarina Blazetic (DeLand, Fla.) carried with 30 game-changing assists
  • Senior outside hitter Sydney Simonson (Sullivan/Black River) added four total blocks against the Muskies

The Yellow Jackets wrap up the 2024 season on Saturday, November 9 as they travel to Bethlethem, Pennsylvania to take on York (Pa.) College and No. 1 nationally ranked Juniata (Pa.) College in a non-conference tri-match beginning at 2:30 p.m. in Memorial Gymnasium inside the Kennedy Sports and Recreation Center.
