Men's Soccer Stings Thiel (Pa.)

GREENVILLE, Pa. - The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team shut out Thiel (Pa.) College in a non-conference game by a score of 3-0 at Alumni Stadium.

BW (3-2-1) gives Thiel (4-1) their first loss of the season after taking a commanding three-goal lead in the first half. The Yellow Jackets protected their lead by keeping the Tomcats scoreless in the second half to pick up their second straight shutout win.

BW Leaders

  • Senior forward Topher Garcia (North Royalton) scored his first goal as a Yellow Jacket and took three shots
  • Freshman forward Carter Stanaczyk (Sheffield Village/Lutheran West) scored his first collegiate goal on a game-high five shots
  • Sophomore defender Jakob Young (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) took one shot scoring one goal
  • Sophomore forward Jordan Culley (Atlanta, Ga./Woodward Academy) recorded his first point as a Yellow Jacket with an assist
  • Junior Academic All-OAC midfielder Ben McCauley (Tallmadge) recorded an assist for his first point of the season
  • Sophomore goalkeeper Seth Warrick (Avon) tallied four saves in his first career shutout
