WAYNESBURG, Pa. - The Baldwin Wallace University men's soccer team defeated Waynesburg (Pa.) University by a score of 6-1 in a non-conference matchup in John F. Wiley Stadium.
BW (4-2-1) fell to an early hole thanks to a Waynesburg (2-2) goal in the second minute but went on to score six unanswered to put the opposition away. The Brown and Gold have outscored their opponents 12-2 in their four-game unbeaten streak and currently share the Ohio Athletic Conference lead for most goals scored by a team.
BW Leaders
- Junior forward Max Yakym (Parma/Normandy) recorded his first career multi-goal game with two goals on three shots
- Junior forward Mike Kane (Kent/Hudson) and sophomore forward Alex Horak (Ravenna/Roosevelt) each picked up their first goals of the season
- Freshman forward Carter Stanaczyk (Sheffield Village/Lutheran West) made it two straight games with a goal
- Sophomore defender Jakob Young (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) also scored in his second straight game
- Junior defender Aidan O'Neill (Middleburg Heights/Berea Midpark) added an assist for his first point as a Yellow Jacket
- Freshman midfielder Maguire Alden (Alexandria, Va./Edison) recorded an assist off the bench
Waynesburg Leaders
- Sophomore forward Matthew Serrano scored the only goal for Waynesburg and took a game-high four shots
- Senior forward Seth Massotti assisted on Serrano's goal
- Despite allowing six goals, senior goalkeeper Michael Francus had seven saves
